Software and websites built by someone who runs his own.

Eighteen years building software for other people's businesses, and running websites and businesses of my own the whole time. Wyre Digital is a one-person studio in Lancashire, working with businesses across the UK, with no account manager between you and the person doing the work.

The systems that have to be right

Fraud prevention, event ticketing, bookings and the payments behind them. The same care whether the client has a thousand staff or one.

It's yours at the end

You walk away with everything: the code, the accounts and the documentation to run it without me.

Fleetwood, Lancashire

Working remotely with businesses across the UK, and happy to visit if you're local.

What I do

From a first website to the software your business runs on, or a senior engineer on your team.

  • Custom software development

Web applications, customer portals, internal tools and SaaS products, designed around how your business works and taken all the way into production. Built in whichever stack fits, including the one you already have.

  • Website design and build

Fast, well-designed sites that are built to be found and to turn visitors into enquiries. Anything from a five-page brochure site to a full booking platform, from £1,500.

  • Integrations and automation

Payments, email, CRMs, accounting and partner APIs, connected so your team stops copying data between systems by hand.

  • Contract engineering and team extension

A senior full-stack engineer embedded in your team by the day: your repo, your stand-ups, your tooling. Remote, for as long as the work needs, and productive in the first week rather than the first month.

  • Fractional CTO

Senior technical leadership for founders and directors who need it a few days a month, not full time: architecture, hiring, suppliers and a roadmap the business can actually deliver.

  • Support and maintenance

Updates, monitoring, security patches and small improvements on a monthly retainer, so the software you rely on keeps working.

Work

Four projects that show how I work. One is mine; three were inside larger teams.

How a project runs

The same four steps whether it's a website or a year-long build.

  1. A call

Thirty minutes by phone or Teams, or in person if you're local. You tell me what you're trying to do and I'll tell you what I think, including when you don't need me.

  2. A written scope and price

Fixed price where the scope is clear, day rate where it isn't. Either way you know the cost before anything gets built.

  3. Build in the open

Working software every week or two, in a repository you can see at any time, with a demo you can click through yourself.

  4. Launch, then look after it

Deploy, monitor, fix, improve. Support is optional, but most clients keep me around.

Why a one-person studio

Wyre Digital is deliberately small. You talk to the person writing the code, and the person writing the code has spent eighteen years in production systems where mistakes cost real money. There is no junior doing the work after the sales call.

I use modern tooling, including AI coding assistants, in a structured, reviewed and tested way. That means I can deliver what used to take a small team, without the overhead of one. When the final invoice is paid, the code, the repository and the infrastructure are handed over to you in full, so you're never locked in.
